When you sign up to volunteer, join our mailing list, or contact the campaign, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, the ways you're interested in helping, your availability, and anything else you choose to tell us. Our volunteer form is hosted by JotForm, which processes submissions on our behalf.

Contribution information. Contributions are processed by ActBlue, not by this website. When you contribute, ActBlue collects your name, mailing address, email address, employer, occupation, and payment information, and shares the information we are required to collect and report with us. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. ActBlue's own privacy policy governs its handling of your information.

Information collected automatically. Our website is hosted on Squarespace. Like most websites, it automatically records information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, the pages you visit, and the time and date of your visit. This is used to understand how the site is performing.

We do not knowingly buy or collect information about you from data brokers for the purpose of building profiles.

3. How We Use Your Information‍ ‍

We use the information we collect to:

  • Communicate with you about the campaign, including news, events, and opportunities to get involved

  • Coordinate volunteer activities and match volunteers with tasks

  • Process and acknowledge contributions

  • Comply with Alabama campaign finance law and any other applicable legal obligations

4. Text Messages

If you affirmatively opt in by checking the consent box on our volunteer form, you may receive text messages from the Committee at the number you provided, including messages sent using automated technology. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of volunteering with or contributing to the campaign.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message. You may reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at the address above. We will honor opt-out requests promptly.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Contributions and Public Disclosure

Contributions to political campaigns are not private.

Alabama's Fair Campaign Practices Act requires candidate campaign committees to file periodic reports with the Alabama Secretary of State disclosing contributions received. Depending on the amount contributed and the requirements in effect, this may include your name, address, and other information you provide when contributing. These reports are public records and are published online by the State of Alabama.

If you contribute to this campaign, you should assume the information required by law will become publicly available. This is a legal requirement and is not something the Committee can waive or opt you out of.

6. How We Share Information

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who work on the campaign's behalf, including our website host, form provider, email provider, text messaging provider, and payment processor. These vendors are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us.

  • Government agencies, where required by campaign finance law or other legal obligation.

  • Other campaigns, committees, and political organizations. As is common practice in political campaigns, we may exchange, share, or rent our supporter list with like-minded candidates, committees, and organizations. If you would prefer we not share your information in this way, contact us at the address above and we will honor your request.

  • Law enforcement or others, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Committee or others.

We do not sell your information for commercial advertising purposes.

7. Cookies

Our website is hosted on Squarespace and uses cookies that are necessary for the site to function and to record basic visitor statistics.

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, retargeting tools, or other third-party tracking on this website. We do not build advertising profiles of our visitors or share your browsing activity with advertisers.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

8. Your Choices

  • Email: Every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link.

  • Text messages: Reply STOP to any message.

  • List sharing: Contact us to opt out of having your information shared with other organizations.

  • Access, correction, or deletion: Contact us at the address above and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, except where we are legally required to retain the information — for example, contribution records required under campaign finance law.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, and we rely on established vendors with their own security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
